Online fax comparison

FaxZero is cheaper for short faxes. Long packets need more room.

FaxZero has a real free tier and a lower-priced premium tier. Just One Fax costs more, but keeps a single U.S. submission together when it runs beyond FaxZero’s 25-page limit.

Practical steps

Choose based on this fax, not a generic winner

01

Use the free tier for 1–3 pages

FaxZero is the lower-cost choice when its branded cover page, email-confirmation step, U.S. or Canada destination, and limit of five free faxes per day fit the task.

02

Use FaxZero premium for 4–25 pages on price

Its official $3.29 premium tier is cheaper than Just One Fax, removes FaxZero branding, permits an optional cover, and does not require an account.

03

Keep 26–100 pages in one transmission

Just One Fax can prepare one fax with up to 100 final pages. Splitting a packet into several smaller faxes can complicate routing, page order, and a recipient’s submission rules.

04

Check destination and file support

FaxZero supports Canada and paid international sending plus more source-file types. Just One Fax sends only to U.S. numbers and accepts PDF, JPG, and PNG.

What FaxZero’s official pages say

FaxZero advertises free faxing to the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. A free fax can include three attachment pages plus a FaxZero-branded cover page, and a sender can submit no more than five free faxes per day.

The premium option is $3.29 for up to 25 attachment pages plus an optional cover page. It removes FaxZero branding, receives higher delivery priority than free faxes, and does not require an account or free trial.

FaxZero wins the short-fax price comparison

For an eligible one-to-three-page fax, free is less expensive than $5. For four through 25 pages, FaxZero premium is also less expensive at its currently published price. Just One Fax should not be chosen on price alone in either range.

The decision changes when one submission contains 26 through 100 pages. FaxZero’s published domestic tiers do not accommodate that packet as one fax, while Just One Fax includes it in one $5 transaction. Confirm that the recipient permits a long fax before sending.

  • 1–3 attachment pages: FaxZero free is the price winner when its conditions fit
  • 4–25 attachment pages: FaxZero premium costs less at the August 24, 2026 price
  • 26–100 final pages: Just One Fax can keep the packet in one transmission

The confirmation workflows are different

FaxZero’s free workflow sends an email containing a confirmation link and does not transmit until the sender clicks it. Its FAQ says premium senders skip that confirmation step. FaxZero also provides a private status URL and sends a final result email.

Just One Fax prepares the uploaded pages before checkout so the sender can review the destination, file order, and final count. After payment, its private status page reports progress and the final result is emailed. Neither delivered result proves that a recipient reviewed or accepted the document.

Read the retention and compliance boundaries

FaxZero’s FAQ says it stores fax metadata, including sender email and destination number, indefinitely and deletes fax content within three days of transmission. Just One Fax says delivered documents are deleted after transmission, while transaction metadata may remain for operational or legal reasons.

Neither a short retention period nor account-free checkout is a compliance certification. Just One Fax does not advertise HIPAA compliance. Determine whether either service meets the legal, contractual, and recipient-specific requirements for the document before uploading it.
