Prepare the file on iPad.
iPadOS can scan documents into Notes or Files. A document scan is preferable to a casual camera photo because it crops page edges and keeps several sheets in one ordered file.
Device workflow
From iPad to fax in four checks.
Scan or save the document
Use the document scanner in Notes or Files for paper, or save an emailed or downloaded source PDF directly to Files.
Check on the larger screen
Inspect signatures, handwriting, dates, page edges, orientation, and order. Retake faint or clipped scans.
Upload in Safari
Choose the saved PDF from Files after entering the fax destination and result email.
Keep the result available
Review before checkout, then retain the private status link and emailed final result with the saved PDF.

Do I need a fax app on iPad?
No. Use built-in tools for the document and a current browser for the fax upload.
Can an iPad scan several pages into one file?
Yes. Notes and Files can create multipage document scans. Reopen the saved result and verify every page.
Can I fax an Apple Pencil signature?
You can send a properly saved PDF containing an authorized signature. Reopen the file to confirm the mark is embedded.
